No matter what they say, I still feel that out of all the women he’s been with, Dexter loved Rita the most. He loved her, but he just didn’t know it, didn’t acknowledge it. And probably, he held back a bit because he thought Rita wouldn’t accept who he really was. Maybe Dexter was inclined to Lumen because he was honest with her, but I doubt it if he actually fell in love with her.
